Special requirements and compact structure of Deck combination azimuth thruster

The deck combination azimuth thruster is mainly a marine propulsion unit that integrates the rudder propeller and the diesel main engine, and has the advantages of compact structure, high maneuverability and good compatibility. The diesel engine transmits power to the rudder propeller through elastic couplings, clutches and cardan shafts. Hydraulic stations, electric control boxes, daily fuel tanks and other components can also be installed on the common base.

When the deck combination azimuth thruster is self-contained due to the deck combined rudder propeller, the components and systems in the unit before the loading are connected and commissioned. The entire unit is directly mounted on the splint base and covered with a container casing. The rudder propeller is equipped with the rear end of the unit and its vertical height is adjusted by mechanical or hydraulic means to enable the ship to generate large thrust or repair when the draught depth changes.

The deck combination azimuth thruster can meet various special needs to a certain extent. For example, it can reduce the diameter of the propeller in combination with the counter-rotating propeller. It is suitable for ships with large draught changes. Under no-load conditions, the propeller can still be completely immersed in water. This type of vessel therefore eliminates the need to install a ballast water treatment system.
